For 75 Years, Rayburn by AGA has been the industry leader in central heating cast-iron range cookers, with all your cooking, heating and hot water needs in one neat, sleek, efficient, innovative package. We have two types of Rayburns available, cooker-only models or cooking, hot water and central heating models, with options of slow combustion solid fuel (wood and / or coal) or illuminating paraffin-fired. The Rayburn is the perfect choice for moving your home off grid or reducing your dependence on Eskom. Our solid fuel and paraffin-fired Rayburns operate at a cost of around 35-45% of the cost of electricity per kWh and can provide up to 80% of your home’s energy needs. 

Rayburns are assembled by hand at the AGA factory in Britain and dispatched as a complete appliance. Built from solid cast iron, each Rayburn is made to exacting engineering detail, from the skilled casting of molten iron to the multiple protective coats of high gloss enamel which gives the castings their characteristic surface shine, thereby retaining its reputable, timeless classic design.

Available in various sizes, 17 colour ways and different fuel types, and utilising the legendary AGA secret of cast-iron cooking using radiant heat, the Rayburn’s multi-faceted functionality should be on the checklist of architects, interior designers, and South African homeowners committed to having a head-start in off-grid, affordable, stylish living.

  • Heat storage cooker

  • Choice of continuous burning or on/off (intermittent) operation, dependent on model

  • The temperatures of the main oven and hotplate can be varied (turned up and down)

  • One rectangular hotplate, graduated in temperature from boiling to simmering. Also variable in temperature, dependent upon the setting used

  • Top main oven can be varied in temperature

  • Lower smaller oven, about half the size of the main oven. A cast iron lower oven is used as a warming oven, about a third the heat of the main oven

  • Dispatched as a complete appliance

  • Thermodial on the main oven door gives a guide to center oven temperature

  • Wide choice of models, cooking only or cooking and domestic hot water or cooking domestic hot water and central heating. Most Rayburns sold are central heating stoves
