Rayburn 216 SFW Heatranger Solid Fuel & Wood Cookers

The Rayburn 216SFW, whilst small, is perfectly designed and best suited to smaller kitchens, and lacks none of the power you’d expect from a Rayburn, combining great cooking, domestic hot water, and hydronic heating facilities to enhance your luxury kitchen with an iconic, quality appliance.

This beautiful looking, stylishly designed cast iron cooker consists of a 4-pan hotplate with graduated heat (for boiling and simmering) and a large main oven and a lower warmer oven, making it perfect for whipping up delicious creations - from a cake through to an elaborate dinner party menu.

As well as cooking, the Rayburn 216SFW is capable of heating your domestic hot water and up to 3 radiators (depending on domestic hot water requirements), with an output of 5kW to the boiler, and supplies a steady 3-4kW of heat to the kitchen.  This cooker in the 200 Series offers superb cooking and heating performance in a compact package.

Choice of fuel is becoming increasingly important, and there is a range of fuel options to choose from.  The Rayburn 216SFW will attract those who are interested in sustainable living and the newer Rayburn 216SFW have had a new wood grate facility added and now is capable of burning wood and seasoned timber more efficiently – good for the environment, good for the soul, the Rayburn by AGA way!

How It Works - Off Grid Cooking, Heating & Hot Water

Rayburn SFW (solid fuel) cookers have remarkable performance.  From cold, the boiler will reach optimal temperature in around 30 minutes and the cooker reaches simmering temperature within about 45 minutes. The solid fuel cookers are designed for continuous running and can burn wood and/or coal. The cooker is easy to use. Heat can be diverted from the cooker to the boiler or vice versa as required for heating or cooking.

Fuel Type

Solid Fuel

Wood burning is better for the environment because the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is the same as that absorbed by the tree during growth.

Other recommended fuels are smokeless coal, bituminous coal (contains less carbon) and peat, making it perfect for today’s environmentally concerned cooks.  By replacing some of your energy needs with natural fuels you are minimising the cost and helping to reduce your carbon footprint.  This model is dynamite in a small package in terms of models available, fuel options and space-saving designs.
